CAARE, Inc. provides safe, affordable and quality transitional housing for veterans who are homeless.  CAARE, Inc. helps these residents reach their goal of living in permanent housing, by establishing a mentor environment and providing linkages to health care and supportive services.

 

 
Services Offered to Residents

·          Bedroom with three common areas shared by other residents

·          Self-care maintenance

·          Assistance in finding or training for a job

·          Employment counseling including resume preparation for interviews, and networking

·          Assistance in locating permanent housing

·          Access to the food pantry here at CAARE, Inc.

·          Access to a VA Liaison

 

 
WHAT is Transitional Housing & WHO is eligible?

Transitional housing is temporary housing. It offers individuals an opportunity to live in a structured environment for 6 to 8 months, while working towards transitioning back into the community. People who are eligible for our program are single, male veterans.

 
How Do I Apply For Transitional Housing?

To find out if you are eligible for transitional housing and to receive an application, please contact CAARE’s Housing Betty Finoh at 919-683-5300 x103. Also if possible, please bring proof of veteran status. Once you fill out an application and are placed on the waiting list, you will be contacted for an intake interview once space becomes available.
