Dear Friends of CAARE,
We need your help!
Many in our community were affected by hurricane Florence. As some of you may know, Healing with CAARE was not spared. We have two houses on W. Corporation St. that were severely damaged by a fallen tree. One house has been destroyed. We have had to move our Treatment classes to another location. In our efforts to remediate the problem, we discovered that the insurance policy held with Philadelphia Life was inadequate and will not cover the damages. Therefore, we are unable to remove the tree so that repairs can be made to one of the houses.
As a nonprofit, CAARE is supported by grants and voluntary donations. Now we’re asking for your help to continue our support of the community we call home. We need monetary donations to have the tree removed or voluntary labor from skilled tree surgeons. If you are in a position to provide either, please go to our main page and click donate or send us a note that you are able to provide tree surgeon services.
Healing with CAARE has supported our community for the last 23 years. Please help us to continue providing services to those who are underserved.
"There is benefit in seeing lives change…
I do believe that we are all change agents, so we have to use our gifts to help make that change come about."
- Dr. Sharon Elliott-Bynum, former CEO and Co-Founder, Healing with CAARE, Inc.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“CAARE does exactly what the name implies. It cares about the individuals who come through the door…about their growth, mental, physically. CAARE does its best to help people to leave better than when they came. “
- Culinary Program Participant
“There are unlimited resources at CAARE. My experience as a volunteer has opened many possibilities for me to grow and research similar areas of education to better help and support old and new clients that may walk through the doors of CAARE.”
“CAARE sees the whole individual. They wanted to know about my well-being as a human and as a man. They took a “broke” me and fixed me because they cared.”

A Global Day of Giving
A global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community.
Help others through the gift of your time, donations, goods or your voice.
